Chachachanges

15 Dec

Change is HARD ya know?  Even or maybe especially when you are the one initiating change.  WHY??  Why is it so dang hard?!?

So I have been stewing for several months.  Years even really.  Not gut wrenching everyday stewing.  Just back of the mind, floats up during meditation, pinterest posting kind of stewing.  More like “habit stewing”

Well, guess what Martha?  I got off the pot.  I did.

Looks pretty wild right?   That’s what change can be my friends!!  WILD.  IN YOUR FACE.  SCARY.  NOTICABLE.  CHANGE.  No wonder my bejeeber freaks at change.  My resistance forcefield goes up.  The lid snaps shut on my box.

When I’m ready.  When the time is right.  When the stars align.  Change is okay-even good.  And sometimes, after it all gets processed, the end result is much more subtle than the initial changes that took place inside.  Big or small, every little change allows a little bit more of your light to shine.

Of course change involves others in one way or another.  Maybe someone else’s  actions nudge you to make changes.  Maybe your change causes a ripple effect for change in others.  Sometimes you need someone to help you change.  Sometimes it’s all of this.  It’s all butterflies.

I hooked up with Brittany for this change.  She is a sweetheart and just amazing at creating beautiful hair.  You can connect with her  HERE

I am grateful for all the nudgers, ripples, and helpers in my life…you know who you are!

Fail.

So the church bake sale itself was a success.  But my little cookie holders, not so much.

Cookies

I made 20 little holders using washi tape, burlap strips and buttons.

Cookies

And I ended up buying 12 of them back before we dropped prices to 50%  for the last 10 minutes.

oh well Scott now has some fresh cookies and I have 12 decorated holders for some future event.

Oh well not a total loss.  Unbeknownst to me at the time, I guess I had a couple people trying to determine my age and so far I must be keeping the wrinkles at bay as the guess was a few years less than my actual age.  Thank goodness they weren’t trying to guess my weight.  Course maybe plumping up my wrinkles is what shaved those years off the guess.  Dang it.  Waddling off to the treadmill now.

10 more makes 80

Hmmm. Trysts only 9.  Hang tight while I figure out what happened with my numbering system…

so I thought this one was a duplicate snap of the same quilt, but I think it might be the 2nd of 3 identical but different sized tops.

Ufo  and yet….I don’t know….I’m going to say this is only 9 until I check it out closer.  I’m getting kinda close to 100……

And now 50! And a pickle.

So we have enjoyed the tradition of the pickle on the Christmas tree with the boys.  Last year however, the pickle was dropped and shattered into a crapzillion pieces.  Today we found a pickle at target.  It was only $3 so we decided to get 2 just in case.  Within 2 minutes of discovering the pickle, due to extreme excitement, the pickle was dropped, and shattered and the tears were flowing.  Thank goodness we had bought a spare.  I almost feel like we should go buy 2 more!  The tree goes up this weekend!  Yea!
