karen is a closet pink lover

23 Jun

and here is one of her quilts to prove it.  and she made this for herself.  it’s mostly likely going to live as a valentine’s day table cloth.  but may make an appearance periodically on her red couch!

we could have done something fun and/or fancy in the nice wide border but we chose to use a thread that worked well with the inside of the quilt which was brown.  Since that was high contrast with the wide border, it shows off the stitching pattern quite well.

The stitching pattern is Oma’s garden by Sophie Collier.  it really is a lovely pattern and fun to stitch.

let me tweak the picture a bit so you can see the stitching better…..

i can’t wait to see this quilt after karen washes and dries it a few times.  i anticipate great texture.

ok, some close ups…..look at the beautiful fabrics karen chose:

and a corner shot-because it’s fun!

Love it!! I think I have some of the same pinks in my spool quilt but I’m hand quilting and it’s too hot to hand quilt for now.

Love it! Oma’s garden is a great pattern. I like the black and white photo effect to show the quilting better, good idea!! Might steal that.
