so it rained

16 Jul

and rained and rained.  for the 3rd time since spring, our road has washed out

and it was FAST too.  scott left at 5:50 am and the water was no where near running over the road.  neighbor lary tried to leave 20 MINUTES later and it was impassible.  and remember, we live on a dead end road.  this is the only exit unless you are driving a tractor and go crosscountry.

road and water inspectors

there’s a HOLE in my road.  seriously.  ok, now the big dog is a BIG D O G.  probably 100 pounds of dog.  the little dog isn’t big (well, he’s a big pain in the…..nevermind).  that’s a BIG hole.

and we’re not talking a pot hole here peeps.  this hole goes through the road.  to the WATER.  all the way from one side of the bridge to just shy of the other side.  scott and lary figure there is only about 8 inches of road thickness that we have to drive over.  did i mention that this is the only way out?

i have to go update my pages of fears……..

edited to add that i KNOW this is small potatoes compared to the devastation many folks are dealing with.  this is a baby red potato in a huge pot of smashed potatoes.  my heart goes out to folks with real problems.

That would scare me to even walk around…. little lone drive over……. hope the fix is faster and easier than it appears to the untrained road person…

so is your road a dead end because of the cemetery or because it goes nowhere? or both?
as for the exit end, looks like a major reconstruction will be needed.
hopefully in that case there will be lots of machines involved to keep the boys entertained.
