Stealth post

Sybil here!

While Kay is off on her 4 day quilt retreat (the lucky duck), I decided to share with you a couple pictures of a quilt show I went to today here in Australia.  It was quite a small show but there were a couple gems.  Also, the vendors…..well, you quilters know how that goes.

I discovered 2 new products today from Sewline.  Now, you USA quilters probably already know about them but they are certainly SLICK!  The first one, my favorite, is a needle threader.  My eyes are aging and I’ve become very frustrated when trying to thread a needle.  I’ve tried all the standard needle threaders and sometimes I can’t even get the ‘thingy’ through the eye.  So, I now have in my possession a $20 needle threader.  If this doesn’t work – I’m giving up on hand work and going back to coloring books.

The second Sewline product is their fabric glue pen.  It is absolutely THE BOMB for using with English Paper piecing.  No more basting of fabric onto little pieces of freezer paper – now with a quick swipe of the pen and a press of the fabric, I have securely fastened the sides down and can whip stitch my paper pieces together.

In June I’m going to the Sydney Quilt show which is FAB-U-LOUS!  If Kay doesn’t change her password by then, I’ll come back and share with you pictures from that show.  I went a few years back and was absolutely blown away by the artistry.

Ok…..on with the show….

No problem, Jan. And, isn’t that last one a stunner? Major eye candy. I could have stood and stared at it forever. The colors reminded me of a Jenny Beyer quilt – it just glowed.

Oh Sybil … thank you so much for sharing these beauties! They make my quilts look like they are straight from a coloring book … colored outside the lines! Thank you again.

I think it is, Jody. It wasn’t labeled but I did a quick google search and it sure looks like it.

How fun to see a post from you on Kay’s blog! Love it! And I love the photos – the quilt show looks like a good one. And thanks for the tip about the glue pen – I’m going to look for one for my hexagon project!

I think you’ll like the glue stick. I’ve finished over 75 diamonds in the last couple days and am now ready to start whip stitching them together. Pretty darn slick!
