are you sick of me yet?

28 Jun

cripes.  talk about run on mouth this morning!

i’m kind of just hanging about until i can put the dog in the kennel.  he’s sleeping on the couch right now.  dumb D O G.  anyway, i hate to kennel him too early because we are going to be gone tonight to the pre-opening of a new movie theater.  scott worked on the building so we were invited to the ribbon cutting.  so that’s why you are getting 3 posts in one morning.  lucky you.  sure, i could be cleaning, or organizing, or baking……but i’m not.

anyway, ian is learning to write his name.

uh huh.  that is permanent marker on my 200 year old harvest table.  i asked him if he wrote his name on nana’s table.  he proudly answered “yes i did”.  i asked why.  he answered “because i did” in such a bright cheery voice.

uh huh.

and i have a gallon jug of milk leaking in my refridge.  dang.  suppose i should address that before leaving.

As I was told once, every time you look at that writing (or in my case, GOUGE) you will smile remembering that child at that age. Things are temporary, family is forever…

a quick wipe (and i mean quick) with acetone will get rid of the mark and making the kid wear boxing gloves on a permanent basis will stop a repeat.

i was/am so excited for him……i know technically the letters are not written properly but HEY! he was writing his name people!!! and i played a part in getting him to this point! and i know, it could have been on paper and that would have been good too, but this way, i won’t have to keep track of a piece of paper! pretty sure i won’t lose the table. 🙂 pretty sure.

and neil…..yeah you’re a big talker. seems to me i remember you getting all mushy when ian and kaiden were calling you grampa last time you were here.

My sister carved JUSTIN,my dad’s name into our piano bench. She must have been older than Ian to know how to spell Justin!

Wish I could paste a picture of my little 3 year old grandaughter with Sharpie “make-up” all over her face. Her little boy friend said he was going to make her “more beautifuler.”

You might want to try some rubbing alcohol. It got sharpie marker out of pants for me.
