pretty maids all in a row

18 Mar

or two. soon there will be four! these are the hourglass blox i am working on. it’s a darlene zimmerman pattern appropriately called “the hourglass quilt”. it’s a fun little 5 part series of patterns/stories titled “amalie’s story”. it is civil war themed. each pattern includes little snippets of letters…..well it’s confusing…..ok, the people are real and they were related to darlene. the letters are not “real” but they are based on real events. at least that’s what my remembry tells me. don’t quote me because honestly, i don’t listen so good sometimes! anyhoo, here are my blox:

most of the fabs were pulled from my stash (these were the same ones used in my NYD butterfly quilt). exceptions being the blue sashing and the orange which will be a narrow border.

and these lovelies will be a little baby boy quilt soon:

are they stinkin’ cute or what? unfortunately, all but one of these are new purchases. sigh. and yes, i know there is pink in one of them but hey! pink is in the rainbow for cryin’ in the soup. and little boys like rainbows too! and it will only be a small piece of that fabric anyway. pfffft.

i am also working on my march postcards but no snaps of them yet. hope to finish them up this weekend and will provide snaps then.

ok, better wrap this up. it’s the middle of the night and if i’m out of bed too long, someone comes looking for me…..

I like, I like! And a new baby boy quilt? Jeepers! He has the girl pattern right in “front” of him! But that’s okay … with those way cute boy construction workers already on the planet, I think another boy will be just perfect. And NEXT time we’ll have the ballerina, violinist, tippy toeing first female NFL player of all time !! HE HE HE
