autumn thoughts

4 Oct

kinda like “deep thoughts” but not really  🙂  remember who’s writing this folks!

i’m still holding out hope for some warm weather (i still have to winterize the pool which i imagine includes getting IN it for a final clean…..sigh.  why didn’t i do that 2 weeks ago?) but we’ve already had some pretty cool days.

hats and sweatshirts were the order of the day:

shoes in the sand:

and shoes in the mud:

this is how we make mud when nature doesn’t provide it:

find some dirt, pour water on it.  lots of water.

and then make a funny face when nana suggests cleaning up.

finish up the day with some tasty chili and home baked bread.

and finish up clue #3 (jami is already DONE and i’m just on clue 3.  sigh)

did some stitching on the long past due wedding quilt-it’s ready for quilting now.  and did some quilting on joyce’s basket quilt.  SID is painful and no-one sees it.  but you know when it’s not there.  grunt.

i may have  found a puppy obedience school to send the D O G off to.  yea me!  hope to go check out the facility this week.

audrey and i went to the movie “all about steve” last night.  starring sandra bullock as an eccentric crossword puzzle maker/stalker.  really enjoyed the show.

i’ve been a busy little beaver!  tomorrows a new day.  are you ready for it!??!

I love your blocks for the mystery!

Naw…don’t get in the pool to clean it…it’s just gonna get dirty through the winter months. When you open it up in the spring it’s going to be all kinds of ug-g-g-gly green so don’t waste your time…ask how I know this??? My old pool was always gross when I pulled the winter cover off in the spring. That’s what they make chemicals for…ROFLMAO! 🙂

We are having heavy snow here tonight – sending it your way so hope you stay warm. I agree – let the pool go until spring or else just skate on it.

Brr…hard to believe summer is over already!

Go to the pool shop and ask what final chemical treatment needs to be done for closing down the pool. Then after you do the final treatment…cover and leave it.

It will most definitely get disgusting but next summer a healthy dose of pool shock and other chemicals along with a good pool brush and vacuum will have it crystal clear in no time. (DH tried to get me to climb in the pool and clean ours at the start of this last season. Uh-huh, no way. That’s why they make pool chemicals! 😉 )

You are such a good Nana to make mud and let them play in it…..I’m such a bad Grammie as the idea of doing that here made me shudder. LOL
