sigh

so does “timeout” work for anyone out there?  ian seems to love his timeout chair.  he sits there perfectly contented for his 2 minutes.  doesn’t fuss, doesn’t get out early.  and when his 2 minutes are up, he apologizes, gives hugs and then typically within a short period of time, he does what got him put in the time out chair again.  sometimes the toys go into timeouts.

timeout

**please note:  ian’s timeout spot is NOT on top of this cabinet.

and really?  who says tv is not a good babysitter?  define “too close” to the tv.

I feel for you Kay. But at least he sits quietly in the time out chair. My DD screamed and kicked and got up constantly from the time out seat. Even the timer didn’t work. It was hell and it didn’t ever make the impression on her we wanted it to. We also put the toys in time out. Didn’t work either… she just played with something else. We tossed the toys, no change. I never thought I would have to ground a 4 year old to her room, but I did. Not sure if that worked either. So, like I said, at least he’s quiet in his time out seat, so you have a break. That may be the best you get. I would have gladly taken that.

Oh no… the TV is not the baby sitter.. it’s educational ROTFLOL Pop in an educational video or PBS and time yourself out 😉 Some of our toys had to go away permanently to make a believer. Of course I don’t think she picked up on the fact that I started with the loudest most annoying and/or broken ones…..

I love that Ian thinks he has a naughty chair at Nana’s house and just sits in it for fun!
