another WIP wednesday!

26 Nov

dang! it seems like wip wednesday comes every week!

not only do i have a “work in progress” i have a FINISHED project. yea me! now, you’ve probably already seen bits and pieces of this one, but here it is in all it’s completeness!

the pattern (merry go round) calls for 3 jelly rolls and i only had 2 (rats!) so i put on the ol’ thinking cap and figured out that i’d have enough left over in the strips to combine the left overs into  “whirlygig” blocks.  not sure that it worked…..those blocks are a little distracting.  but….it’s done and e loves it (yes, it was a wedding shower gift and the shower happened in september and i JUST got this done)

here’s a close up of a couple whirlygig blocks

see what i mean?

and here’s the back.  the first pic is the truer color, the 2nd pic i adjusted to show the quilting a bit better.

and now for an updated pic on my prayer shawl:

and there you have my week.  some progress anyway!

Both look great!! That binding on the quilt with those points would have had me running for the hills! Great job!!!

the binding wasn’t too bad actually–a bit tedious but not difficult. i got some advice from gayle and it went pretty slick. i used bias binding so that helped too.

Prayer shawl is turning out very pretty!

Think the whirly blocks add character to the quilt. It was a good decision.

    Enjoy your day.
thanks sis! character is good :O
