hand dyed fabric results!

3 Jun

here they are! really only one piece that i expect to re-dye. i don’t have specific plans for any of it but i’m liking them!

these are one color pieces. i’m real pleased with the intensity of these.

this is the piece that had the clips on it in my last post.

this is the one that was pleated and then rolled.

these pieces have two or more colors in them.

i love this one. it was folded and then used 2 colors…orange and lime green

these two pieces were in the long wall paper tray

color parfait. layered turquoise, fuschia, brown

gradation. chocolate brown. not wild about the lightest one.

there you have it. 20 yards of fabric. it was so exciting to pull them out of their tubs and rinse them off and see what i had. some that i thought were just a muddy mess turned out really interesting.

next month our art club explores shaving cream dyeing and discharge ( i think). i’m responsible for learning the shaving cream method and teaching it to the others. anyone with tips or tricks or info you wanna share? post here or email me at yaks@siouxvalley.net

Those are fabulous!! Check out sew thankful’s blog. She had a video on shaving cream dye, but I think it featured doing stencil designs….. maybe not what you want maybe it is…. 😀

They look wonderful! Almost as good as mine ;-). But I was surprised how MUCH lighter they came out – my ‘black’ one isn’t anywhere near black.
