easter favorites

20 Mar

so i thought i was going to be having a palm sunday brunch but half of the invitees were sick (and i hadn’t even fed them yet!) so i cancelled it. and here i had my easter plates out already and everything. dang. i guess this year they were just decorations as my sister is hosting easter dinner (yea!).

and here’s a close up of one of the egg plates. i got them several years ago from the basket people (longaberger). i love them.  the plates not the people although i’m sure the basket people are very nice.  it’s just that i don’t know them.  well i know one and i love her.

and this is a little woolie that i made several years ago too. i think it might be a thimbleberries pattern. pretty sure. i think it’s cute. the bunny does lay flat. not sure why he’s poofy in the photo.

and of course we have the easter bucket for ian. boppa veto’d toys (says ian has more than enough already…..how is THAT possible?!?!?) and ian doesn’t get much sugar so that lets out a bunch of candy…..so he gets a beach towel, a swimsuit, sunglasses, a ball and a sippy bunny. and yeah, and a crazy flower i found for a dollar. i also bought a bunch of eggs and some trinkets (trinkets are not toys!) and sox and animal cookies to put in them for an egg hunt. we’ve been practicing already so i think he’ll be good at it!

Gotta tell you this, ‘cuz I’m a worry wart. I read the word TRINKETS and my first thought was “choking hazard”. So you be sure to keep a good eye on that stud around those “trinkets”! 😉

    BTW, LOVE the dishes!

Ah Kay, you always bring such a smile to my face. I enjoy your sense of humor. What a lovely table. I’m sorry you had to cancel the brunch.

Don’t mention it! 😀 (Generally speaking, if it involves children or fun, insurance companies don’t wish to cover it. 😉 FWIW 🙂 )

Love your table…I’d better dig out my Easter Egg dishes I purchased through e-baying after coveting yours. Is it wrong to covet Easter things?

By the way, I didn’t write the last entry at 3:02 am 3/21…it was 10:02 pm 3/20.

Oh! …and, of course, there’s the issue of where those plates were made and if there is LEAD in the paint! Usually not too much of a problem unless they get chipped. 😉

Yep, this insurance mindset is a true sickness! Sorry. 😦
