and the stockings were hung

so i had great plans to get some new stockings made this year but yeah, that didn’t get done with a whole bunch of other things left unchecked off my to do list. so this year we improvise! we have new family members so it wasn’t just that the old stockings were old, there wasn’t ENOUGH of them either! you can’t quite see it but ian’s little boot has a smiley face on the toe. The pink toe sock is one that i received from my secret quilter (thanks again!) guess i’ll put the stockings back on the 2008 to do list!

on christmas eve we gather and share a cup of hot chocolate in the santa face mugs and some sweet treats. my siblings and i all remember having 1 santa face mug growing up and fighting to be the one that got to drink from it. not sure where that mug is now. these mugs and plates are a couple years old and were produced by the Longeberger company. they are one of my favorite things!

and talk about busting stash! i pulled fabric from my stash for 9 pair of pajama pants. another fun tradition we have on christmas eve is to receive new pajamas and slippers. i decided at the last minute to pull fabrics to make the jammies. i have to say i’m feeling a bit smug about the whole deal! i didn’t actually sew the jammies. my friends mom (cindy) did that for me (thanks!) i just bought a selection of short and long sleeve t-shirts to go with the jammi pants

and just for fun, i snapped a shot of my son-in-law’s jammies (he’s 6’6″) and my daughter’s (not the one married to him). she’s a shrimp (maybe 5’1″) it makes me giggle.

2 additional pairs were shipped off to Australia and even arrived on time but i didn’t get shots of those.

Am wearing my jaja’s as I type here. A PERFECT fit!

Christmas Day is drawing to a close here in Australia and it’s been a wonderful day. Lunch of prawns, lobster, oysters and fig & goat cheese salad with special champagne and a yummy French white, followed by plum pudding (for the native) and chocolate espresso cake for me did us in for the day.

    Enjoy your Christmas Day everyone.

Wow, what a lot of jammies! I thought about making jammie pants for all of that I bought jammies for. Maybe next year.

I love the socks — and especially Ian’s little boot. Too funny.
