what nightmares are made of

25 Oct

scott was gone last night. so i blame him.

the night started off just fine. i had worked hard all day long so my back and feet ached. took a mini soaker, read a bit, i-corded a bit, computed a bit and ate yet ANOTHER bowl of chili (will i never get to the bottom of it?!?) and enjoyed a glass of black currant wine with it. all perfectly normal non scary things a person is entitled to do.

i went to bed at a reasonable time. and for the next 4 hours while i forced myself to stay in bed, my mind was a tumble of frightening little movie plots. i’d wake myself up, give myself a talking to about how ridiculous this was, drift back to sleep and before long, i was in another scenario. i was in the wild west, a desert, a fire, a car…..all with various people out to get me! ENOUGH. i needs some beauty sleep.

why don’t i dream of pink fluffy clouds and coconut rainbows?

like i said, i blame scott. and maybe a little on the glass of wine. or the chili. mostly i blame scott.

Of course it’s Scott’s fault!! 😀 I find falling asleep to a really funny movie with the TV timer to turn it off before the next movie… which is always scary… comes on. Or just have Tom back over 😉

I still cannot go to sleep with a closet door open – even ajar a little bit – and I have all kinds of night visitors. Once the brain gets started, it is a slippery slope to sleeplessness. Usually I just get up for a couple hours and do something totally worthless and then crawl back in to sleep.

You forgot the one about the man already living in your attic/basement who was waiting for you to be alone!! That’s a good one to keep you awake!
